Family Charter
Our Family Charter is modeled on the ideal of the “Honourable Merchant”. The Honourable Merchant describes the historically grown model for responsible participants in business life. It stands for a pronounced sense of responsibility for one's own company, for society and for the environment. An honorable businessman bases his conduct on virtues which aim at long-term economic success without opposing the interests of society. In doing so, we ensure that our actions are guided by the principles of asset protection and sustainable asset growth for future generations.
Our Family Office lives on the following principles and characteristics:
- The Honourable Merchant is aware of his political and social responsibility. He is committed to the free democratic basic order, to respect for the legitimate interests of the individual, to equal opportunities, and to participation in security and provision. He is committed to justice, solidarity, tolerance, and prosperity.
- The Honourable Merchant actively and responsibly accepts his socio-political role. He has an obligation to actively position himself on social and economic policy issues vis-à-vis his customers, business partners, and the public. In this way, he demonstrates the performance and importance of his profession for society.
- The Honourable Merchant is committed to ethical conduct. He bases his life and works on the rules of good morals and decency. He passes on his basic ethical attitude and values to his clients and promotes the achievement of an honorable company through his value-oriented actions. His role model function plays a special role in this.
- The Honourable Merchant acts sustainably. He sees himself as part of society, the economy, and the natural environment and strives to achieve balance in accordance with the principle of sustainability. As a responsible decision-maker, he considers the long-term consequences for the environment with a view to ensuring the sustainable survival of the company, even over several generations.
- The Honourable Merchant stands for identification and civic engagement. He identifies with his professional colleagues and his profession, as well as their organization. He is aware of the strength of solidarity and community, in which he may be involved.
- The Honourable Merchant is committed to the interests of his client. He acts independently in serving his clients and does so in a knowledgeable and professional manner. He advises his clients fairly and without prejudice, focusing on their individual needs.
- The Honourable Merchant understands trust as the basis of his actions. Reliability and credibility, fair treatment of one another, punctual performance, correct billing, and loyalty form the basis for acting in good faith.
- The Honourable Merchant is independent and has integrity. He is only obligated to his client and makes every effort to remain independent of other relationships that could impair his judgment to the detriment of his client. Likewise, the Honorable Merchant does not disclose confidential information about his clients or use it in any other way to his advantage.
- The Honourable Merchant meets high standards in his dealings with his fellow human beings. Openness, fairness, respect, transparency in business conduct, willingness to engage in dialogue and accept criticism, responsibility, trust, and exemplary leadership are self-evident values in dealing with fellow human beings and at the same time promote their motivation and identification with the company's goals. It is important to act fairly and humanely, but also to demand discipline and performance.
